Location: Nynäshamn, Sweden
Client: Nynäshamns Kommun
Size: 8215 sqm
Data Source: laser survey data (point cloud)
Scope: BIM Modeling
The building of Kommun- och Nämndhuset in Nynäshamn was the first of many BIM modelling projects done for Nynäshamn Municipality (Nynäshamns kommun), part of the Stockholm County in east central Sweden.
The large municipality administration building was laser-scanned in 2015 in order to create an accurate Revit model that would be used for data extraction and importing into the client’s FM system, subsequent archiving, as well as other facility management, maintenance and operation purposes.
Modelling was performed at a relatively high level of detail, with custom-made families that would precisely represent the building’s actual geometry and structure.
This model established a standard that would later be used for future modelling for this as well as for other clients, with the aim to create highly accurate and information-rich reusable Revit models for a wide range of purposes, whether it was facility management or designing future renovations and additions.
